Smart home dashboard

The project is a design concept for a home automation/management application. It is an experiment of appealing real time data visualization for tech-savvy people.

The idea behind this concept was to sum up the visualization of different smart home platforms in one single application. The app is based on five different areas, such as AC/Heating, Home automation, Security, Pools and Gardening.
Each one has its own color code, and its place in the main circular shape. Every sector has an identity yet they also work well as a whole. Understanding the UI takes a bit more time but consider this concept as an experiment with real time data visualization. You can notice the actual time in the circle, and other always moving elements such as the temperature or wifi signal strength.

This is a concept made for the iPad, and it is still waiting for execution.

Below you can see the AC/Heating sector. The users would be able to add/edit/remove sensors to the system.
Color codes help the user pair the text and the visualization at first glance.
Automation is an interesting part of the design since it is highly customizable. Users can add thermostats, lights, as seen on the screen, but they would also be able to set the pool circulation or the sprinkles' operating time. The 24h timescale is applied to the whole sector as time is relevant to every included items.
The security sector shows the operating CCTV cameras and the strength of the wifi signal. In case of multiple wifi signals, the sector can be divided.
Users can edit the cameras or the wifi encryption by tapping on the relevaint item, or in the settings menu.
Users would be able to manage their pools or ponds. If they do not have any, or just to not want to include them in the visualization, they can remove this sector thus giving more space to the others.
Pools show the circulation automation times, and the actual temperatures.
The fifth element is the garden which shows the sprinkles and the estimated height of the grass.
Users can be notified to move the lawn, but they can also see the state of the garden in the diagram.
Sprinkles can be turned on or off by tapping the relevant square, and the intensity can also be set to a given value.
